Following the recent assessment, on the 25th March 2004, under the English Tourism Council (ETC) Quality Assurance Standard,  Huddlestone Cottage and The Hayloft has been awarded a rating of

Brochure is comprehensive in required information provision and also presents well.
Suitable procedures in place for the collection of keys and guest arrival, an advantage having owners living on site.

Very good spatial aspects, the stated number of guests accommodated comfortably.

Quality flooring.

Lighting & heating well provided.

Housekeeping and cleanliness are of the utmost importance and it is essential that standards are consistently maintained.  Levels of cleanliness on the day were found to be very good.

Well decorated with decor maintained to very good standards.

Quality furniture offering ample storage and free surface space.

Soft furnishings and fittings of very good quality.

Flooring is in very good condition.

Heating and lighting well provided.

Well presented beds of very good quality, understand that the cottage is to have a king size bed.  Protection noted to mattresses and fresh linen provided.

Very good levels of cleanliness evident in bedrooms.

Facilities offering very good space and well maintained decor.

Fixtures and fittings of very good quality appearing very well maintained, hopefully the screen in Hayloft will alleviate the water problem.

Fitted with a range of very good quality units offering ample work and storage space.

Quality flooring.

Lighting and heating provision is very good.  Ventilation also well provided for.

Electrical appliances and kitchen equipment in very good supply.  Appliances of very good quality appear well maintained and in good working order.

Crockery, glassware and cutlery well provided.

Equally well provided with a very good range of cookware and utensils.

Again cleanliness to very good level.

SUMMARY OF THE REPORT

Huddlestone Cottage & The Hayloft have achieved the FOUR STAR rating for a further year.  A good and comfortable standard of holiday accommodation is currently offered.
