Huddlestone Cottage

Huddlestone Cottage has recently been completely refurbished with 70% of the internal walls insulated for a high thermal performance to make for a much warmer cottage.  Now equipped with a 4kw Firewarm4 stove, a programmable room thermostat and thermally lined curtains.  This all means that you can still enjoy a cosy cottage without costing the Earth!

Huddlestone Cottage has fully glazed entrance doors leading to a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area. A 4kw Firewarm4 stove gives a warm focal point. The pine floor is now covered by a carpet.  There is a downstairs toilet and shower room. A pine staircase leads upstairs where there is a second full bathroom equipped with a corner bath. Two double bedrooms provide a king size bed and a twin bedded room to sleep four people and a baby.  

A high chair and cot are available for an extra £5 each.  The cot is limited to babies up to 15kg in weight.

Huddlestone Cottage now has the benefit of a Widescreen TV, Freeview and DVD/CD player.

The Hayloft

The Hayloft has its own private entrance door with stairway leading to a large open plan living room with kitchen on one side. The bedroom has a king size bed to sleep two people plus baby and there is room for a cot, if required. 

A high chair and cot are available for an extra £5 each.  The cot is limited to babies up to 15kg in weight.

A separate bathroom provides a bath with a power shower over and a toilet. French doors look out directly to the gardens.

The Hayloft now has the benefit of a Widescreen TV, Freeview and  DVD/CD player.

Further Information

All floors are polished pine with rugs and much of the original stone walls have been retained. The upstairs ceilings are lofted with exposed beams. The kitchens are fully equipped with microwave, refrigerator, electric cooker, hob and washer/dryer. There are colour televisions and radios provided in each lounge. All linen (but not facecloths), oil fired central heating and electricity are all included in the cost. There is also an iron and ironing board. Windows look out onto the gravel courtyard and lawn area with gently rising ground behind, recently planted with a small deciduous wood under planted with bluebells. Some games and books are provided for all guests to enjoy. A single pet is welcome provided it is kept under control and must be kept off the furniture and out of the bedrooms to help those with allergies.  Pets must not be left unattended at any time in the cottage and guests must "scoop the poop".  Free, secure storage is available for those with bikes, but you will need to notify us how many (see Booking Form).

No smoking is allowed in the premises.

There is also a wildlife pond and a formal herb garden and three outdoor barbecues. On your arrival there will be enough tea, coffee, sugar and basics like soap and washing up liquid to get you started.
