Save the Whale

Both Huddlestone Cottage, The Hayloft and Redmain House have now all gone green with Green Energy H20 from ScottishPower Manweb from the 8th December 2006.  Our electricity supply is being matched to a supply of renewable energy from Hydro-Power stations.  You can also GO GREEN if you click on the link below.

The Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society

(WDCS)

"WDCS is the world's most active charity dedicated to the protection of whales, dolphins and porpoises.   Because these animals cannot be protected without conservation of their habitats - the oceans - our work involves an enormous number of projects, covering everything from campaigning against whaling to reducing marine pollution.  Healthy seas are vital for life on earth and by focusing attention on whales and dolphins we can help protect the marine ecosystems where they live and so also help people dependent on the sea."

This page has been added to help a friend and neighbour, Heather Crompton, raise funds for this very worthy cause.  She took part in an Icelandic Bike Ride in June 1999.  All those taking part have pledged to raise at least £2,000 for the WDCS.  Cyclists from all over the country will be riding 320 kilometres across Northern Iceland.

Card Engineering Kits have been produced by Heather Crompton, who teaches Design Technology,   and runs INSET courses for Primary School Teachers in Cumbria.  All profits from the sale of these kits will go  to the WDCS.  Card Engineering Kits may be purchased direct from Heather Crompton for £10.00 plus postage and packing by contacting us at first.
