WOT NXT (left to right) Stephen Buttler, Paul McAuley, Robbie Maye, Jay Magee and Gavin Blac film their new video BELFAST boy band Wot Nxt are hoping to take the charts by storm after filming their debut video at sea.
The group took over the Stena Caledonia for the video for their debut single Speed of Love.
The lads were keen to promote Belfast in their video, so their manager Gerry Brown approached Stena Line for permission to board.
"They are local boys and we wanted to use Belfast as a backdrop to illustrate that," he said.
"They are a great group of lads with loads of talent. Their debut single Speed of Love was written by Howie of the Backstreet Boys so they have great support within the music industry."
The band, which has also received local support from River Island and Peter Marks, hope to release the single onboard the Stena HSS in September.
Captain of the Stena Caledonia Robin White said he was delighted to welcome the boys on board the ship.
"At Stena Line we are always keen to support local talent in any way we can and it was a pleasure to have Wot Nxt filming on board the Stena Caledonia," he said.
"They were kind enough to leave me a copy of the single and I must admit, it is very catchy.
"We are looking forward to seeing our ship appear in the video and we wish them all the best for the future."

Kevin Richardson, who made his Broadway debut earlier this year in the Broadway production of Chicago, will join the London production of that musical in the fall.
A spokesperson for the New York production of the Kander and Ebb musical confirmed that Richardson — of "Backstreet Boys" fame — will reprise his role of Billy Flynn at West End's Adelphi Theatre in September. No start date has been announced.
Richardson will also play the role of slick lawyer Flynn during the musical's upcoming engagement at San Francisco's Golden Gate Theatre. Richardson will replace current Flynn, Gregory Harrison, for three weeks while the show plays the Golden Gate Aug. 5-24. Richardson joins a touring company that includes Bianca Marroquin as Roxie Hart, Brenda Braxton as Velma Kelly, Marcia Lewis Bryan as Matron "Mama" Morton, Ray Bokhour as Amos Hart and R. Bean as Mary Sunshine.
As the smooth-talking lawyer who represents merry murderesses Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, Richardson will sing such Kander and Ebb tunes as "All I Care About," "We Both Reached for the Gun" and "Razzle Dazzle."
Chicago, also playing Broadway's Ambassador Theatre, won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.

Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson, who appeared in Chicago on Broadway earlier this year, will make his West End debut in the hit revival in September, according to an Associated Press report.
Richardson played sleazy lawyer Billy Flynn on Broadway from January 20 through March 6. (He was scheduled to be in the show through March 9, but his final performances were cancelled because of the musicians strike that shut down Broadway for a weekend.) The pop star is scheduled to reprise his role at the Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco from August 6 through August 24 before heading to London.
Richardson and cousin Brian Littrell, two of the five Backstreet Boys, began singing together when they were just children. Richardson met Howie Dorough, A.J. McLean and Nick Carter while working at Disney World, and the rest is history. The Backstreet Boys began their rise to international stardom in 1996 when their self-titled album was released in Europe. (An American version of the album would follow a year later.) Hits from the recording included "Quit Playin' Games (With My Heart)," "As Long as You Love Me," "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," "I'll Never Break Your Heart" and "All I Have to Give." Their American follow-up album, Millennium, was released in 1999 and debuted at number one on the Billboard sales charts. The albums spawned the hits "I Want It That Way," "Larger Than Life," "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely," and "The One." The band has also released the less-successful Christmas Album and Black & Blue.
The West End Chicago currently stars Linzi Hateley as Roxie Hart, Ruthie Henshall as Velma Kelly, Rolf Saxon as Billy Flynn, Zee Asha as Mama Morton, Norman Pace as Amos Hart and Andie Emerson as Mary Sunshine.

  • More Backstreet Solos      back up

    By: Jonathan Liew
If you are dying to find out what the Backstreet Boys have been up to since their last album, here is something to whet your curiosity.
First of all, stop the speculation that they are breaking up. The truth is, they are going solo with their music nowadays. Four of the five members of Backstreet Boys are now recording their solo LPs, which would imply that they won't be releasing a new album as a group anytime soon. However, the 'boys' have announced that they have no plans to quit the group just yet.
"It's important to point out that the group has not disbanded," Brian Littrell's attorney Jordan Keller assured the music fans. "They certainly intend to record as a group in the future, they just don't know when."
As you faithful fans probably know, Nick Carter released his first solo album "Now Or Never" last year. Currently working with his producer Tommy Lee and co-writing his songs, Nick Carter is showing a tendency for delving into rock music. A.J. Mclean too, is going in the rock direction for his solo music.
While Nick and A.J. are indulging in rock, Howie Dorough is exploring his talents in Latin music. He will be producing his songs in both English and Spanish. He is currently collaborating with veterans such as Emilio Estefan and Steven Morales, who are also the producers for artistes like Enrique Iglesias and Christina Aguilera.
For Brian Littrell, he is hoping to integrate gospel music into his musical undertaking, giving gospel music a fresh dimension amidst the pop music today. Brian, who grew up singing in his church, sees this as his desired direction in his musical path.
"There's a wide range in Christian music," Keller said. "From Michael W. Smith to choirs, there's a lot of room to work with."
