  • Carter, Washington & David Put Blood on a Happy Face     back up

    Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, Isaiah Washington and Keith David are set to star in Blood on a Happy Face for writer-director Rick Thompson. Filming is scheduled to begin August 1 in Manhattan and later move to Brooklyn. 
    The film centers on an undercover agent (Washington) who gets caught up in the underbelly of Brooklyn. His world is turned upside down when the woman he loves double-crosses him as part of an elaborate scheme to steal a large sum of money. It's then up to him to save his own life. 
    Carter plays the role of Fazio, the catalyst for the crooked scheme, while David plays a detective with a gambling problem who winds up working for a Russian mobster.

    Former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter has landed a film role in a new Hollywood movie for director Rick Thompson. 
    He will co-star with Isaiah Washington and Keith David in Blood On A Happy Face, set to begin shooting in Manhattan and Brooklyn. on August 1. 
    The project is described as a quick-paced action-drama in the vein of Reservoir Dogs - and centres on an undercover agent, played by Washington, who gets caught up in the underbelly of Brooklyn. 
    His world is turned upside down when the woman he loves double-crosses him as part of an elaborate scheme to steal a large sum of money. It's then up to him to save his own life. 
    Carter plays the role of Fazio, the catalyst for the crooked scheme, while David plays a detective with a gambling problem who winds up working for a Russian mobster.

    Backstreet Boy in "Chicago" 
    Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson will appear in four performances of "Chicago" at Pittsburgh Symphony Heinz Hall. 
    Richardson, who made his Broadway debut as Billy Flynn in the smash musical "Chicago," will repeat his performance in the role at 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday . Gregory Harrison will perform the role today through Friday. 
    After Richardson's performances here, he will continue with the national touring production during its three weeks in San Francisco, then travel to London to play the same role in the West End production of "Chicago." 
    Richardson is best known as a member of the pop group Backstreet Boys, whose five albums have sold over 71 million records worldwide.

    Suddenly being in a boy band doesn't make for such a short-term career. New Kids On The Block's Joey McIntyre, Backstreet Boy's Nick Carter and *NSync's Joey Fatone have all lined up movies for their near future. McIntyre will star in the screen version of "Tony 'N' Tina's Wedding", Carter will take a crack at Reservoir Dogs type drama with a movie called "Blood on a Happy Face", and Fatone will return to movie theatres for a musical version of "Red Riding Hood". He'll play the wolf. 
    Joey Fatone recently became engaged to longtime girlfriend Kelly A. Baldwin. The couple, who have a 2-year-old daughter, Brianna, have been together for 10 years. Fatone popped the question June 18 at his home in Orlando.
