Source: The Official Wade Robson Newslette

This was mentioned in a recent newsletter from Wade Robson:

This past week Wade has been running around as usual. Of course the Grammy's were on Wednesday night. Wade attended the awards...he went to all the after parties and had a great time with friends. The next day he was a little tired, but back to work. He met with Backstreet Boy, Howie D on Thursday. They are writing together for Backstreets new album. The songs sound really good.
Please note that this doesn't mean that the songs will end up on the new album but they will be considered for it.

    Source: MTV

A.J. McLean no longer knows the meaning of being lonely.
[Please note that this seems to be the first mention of this in the National media. KIIS FM in Los Angeles broke the story late last December]
In an interview with VH1 over the weekend in Miami, A.J. disclosed that he's engaged to up-and-coming singer Sarah Martin.
A.J. said that he and Martin, who met two days into the New Year, plan to walk down the aisle in 2003, possibly around the one-year anniversary of their first encounter.
Until then, A.J. will have his hands full with his group. Backstreet have said that they are going in the studio in the next couple of weeks to work on their next LP, the follow-up to 2000's Black & Blue, for which they'll writing some of their own tunes as well as commandeering hits from the likes of Jermaine Dupri and Glen Ballard.
McLean's spokesperson could not be reached to comment on the singer's nuptial plans.
Last July, McLean made headlines when he entered treatment for alcohol abuse, depression and anxiety He returned to the group, and the road, in August.
McLean is the third Backstreet Boy to pop the question to his mate; Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell each tied the knot in 2000.

The event will take place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and will be held on October 11, 12 & 13 of this year!
There are many reasons for having the convention. Naturally, with the great success of the Fan Convention just held in Baltimore, Maryland, we thought that it would be an awesome opportunity for not only our Backstreet Boys Charity Club members, but for the Canadian and West Coast (in both Canada and the USA) fans that don't get to make it to the East Coast events to get together!
We are inviting members WORLD wide to participate in the convention.
We are inviting ALL charity groups to participate and have exhibits.
We are inviting all Canadians and West Coast fans to participate in the convention as well! And of course, we invite ALL of our members to come and join in on the convention! Anyone and Everyone!
We would love for this to be a huge success! We want to meet all of our awesome members of this club! We want to meet all of the fans of the Backstreet Boys that make up the best fan base in the world! You are probably wondering how much this is going to cost. Prices for tickets will include, all of your meals on October 12th (breakfast break, lunch and dinner), breakfast for October 13th as well as chances to win prizes. Whatever costs are over and above our initial costs will be split evenly and given to all FIVE of the Backstreet Boys' individual charities.
Now the price! The price of a ticket to get into the convention is $75 for those that order and pay before June 30, 2002. Any tickets ordered and paid for after June 30, 2002 and before August 1, 2002 will cost $85.

  • Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean Engaged Since December        back up
    Source: Launch.com

By: -- Jason Gelman, New York
Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean is engaged to singer Sarah Martin. McLean first revealed the fact during a December 2001 phone interview with radio personality JoJo Wright at Los Angeles top-40 radio station KIIS FM.
In the interview, McLean told Wright that he wanted to propose in a unique way, so he started off by telling his girlfriend that he was breaking up with her. "I basically set it up where I told her that our relationship's over," he explained. "Kind of like breaking up with her in a weird kinda way. She had this freaked out look on her face. And I told her to close her eyes, and I got down on one knee. And I said, 'Open your eyes,' and I said, 'Sarah Jo Martin, will you be my wife?' And she muddled what sounded like 'yes' and she started crying."
McLean added, "Her knees buckled. And she came down, and we're both on two knees now, sitting there hugging each other. And I'm, like, 'Well, wait! Say it again--make sure I heard you right. Please tell me that you said yes,' and she did!"
McLean had a difficult 2001, spending time in rehab for alcohol abuse and depression, but he said that he managed to wrap up the year on a very happy note, "It's just an awesome thing, man. It really is. I see how happy Brian (Littrell) and Kevin (Richardson) are, and you know, it's just, it's my turn."
McLean will soon be the third Backstreet Boy to tie the knot. "I just want all of our fans to be supportive and be happy like they were with Brian and with Leighanne and Kevin and Kristin. And I'm sure that they will," McLean said. "We have the most wonderful fans in the world and they've been so supportive, especially with me and with my situation. And I just want to be happy, and she makes me happy. And she keeps me sober. And it's just awesome. We're just a great couple together."
The Backstreet Boys are currently writing songs for their follow-up to 2000's Black & Blue. The group has been working with writers and producers Jermaine Dupri and Glen Ballard. Two weeks ago, groupmember Howie Dorough sat down and penned a few songs in Los Angeles with songwriter-choreographer Wade Robson, and he also collaborated with songwriter Andrew Fromm.
